EMR Railway: Name And Shame!

How not to run a railway service...

Screenshots say it all. If it wasn't for Leicester having ticket barriers in operation then I would be now traveling ticket-less. Trust me, they don't deserve a single penny of my heard earned cash :p

edit: Thankfully I did make my connecting service, though had I taken the advice of the platform staff (there were two trains going to the same destination in quick succession) then I'd have missed my connection, and been delayed further still.

Then what would you do if revenue protection cornered you, and threatened you with police action etc?

They don't threaten you with police action...

If it's a standard train manager then they'll ask you to purchase a ticket.
If it's a "Revenue Protection Officer" they'll give you a Penalty Fare.

However, given how infrequent my tickets have been checked on the train, it would probably be less cost effective to go the official route of buying tickets before boarding (though of course Leicester has barriers and you can't try and jump the barriers, as they have CCTV).

Having said all of the above, I certainly believe that EMR (East Midlands Railway) are one of the worst railway service providers in the UK - as well as being one of the most expensive!
