Yesterday I reported a flickering pinkish red LPS light outside my mum's house and tonight discovered it's been replaced with an LED!

All the rest on that road will be replaced within a few months.

Also, the final few LPS lights on the road going past Tesco have now been replaced with LEDs too!

Funny you should say this because I've had to report a load of HPS lights (and one Metal Halide) along a local walkway, because some vandals have decided to throw stones at the fittings and break the protective glass (and in some cases, the bulbs themselves)...

I doubt the vandals will be caught, but I wonder what will happen to the light fittings? LED? HPS? Metal Halide? Or mini fluorescent?

Great, can we get whoever was responsible to do the same on my road, as it still has all HPS lighting apart from one LED after I reported a flickering HPS light back in April?

Fingers crossed you'll get LEDs.

But why smash up some perfectly good HPS lights that still work? Better keeping HPS lights than keeping LPS lights, surely? :p

I doubt it, considering that none of the areas nearby are LED, and that the current lighting scheme uses fluorescent and ceramic metal halide instead. I could hope for low power LEDs - but chances are, we'll get fluorescent, which although whiter, is dimmer than the equivalent HPS.

But these HPS ones on my road are too dim. :(
