Premier League Relegation Odds 2019/2020

Postby spotify95 » July 8th, 2020, 8:17 pm

Most up to date statistics/odds for the relegation zone in the Premier League, for the 2019/2020 season:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/betting/foo ... tion-odds/

Team Chance of being relegated
Norwich Almost Guaranteed
Bournemouth 93%
Aston Villa 83%
Watford 25%
West Ham 8%
Brighton 1%

Latest Odds:

Bournemouth @ 1/14
Aston Villa @ 1/5
Watford @ 3/1
West Ham @ 12/1
Brighton @ 250/1

Note that Norwich were previously with the highest odds, though given their position now, they have been removed from the bookmakers after their latest match.
They are now almost certain to be relegated.

Bournemouth and Aston Villa also need good fortune over the remaining matches to avoid joining the Championship next season (instead of remaining in the Premier League).

Update 7/11/20:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/betting/foo ... ation-odds

Team Chance of being relegated
Norwich Almost Certain (>99%)
Bournemouth 91%
Aston Villa 88%
Watford 18%
West Ham 13%
Brighton 1%

THERE IS AN 88% CHANCE OF ASTON VILLA BEING IN THE RELEGATED!!!

Convert this to bookmakers odds, and you get this:

Bournemouth @ 1/10
Aston Villa @ 1/7
Watford @ 9/2
West Ham United @ 7/1
Brighton @ 250/1

Note: the bookmakers are no longer accepting bets on Norwich as they are almost certain to be relegated.
Norwich are 10 points from safety with only 12 points remaining on the table.

My money would be on the following:
18. Aston Villa
19. Bournemouth
20. Norwich

Update 7/16/20:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/betting/foo ... tion-odds/

Team Chance of being relegated
Norwich Relegation Confirmed (100%)
Bournemouth 90%
Aston Villa 88%
Watford 20%
West Ham 11%
Brighton 2%

Norwich only have two games left to play, and are still 13 points from safety - therefore, it is mathematically impossible to avoid relegation.
Bournemouth and Aston Villa are the two favorites to join Norwich, as things stand...

Bournemouth have only 2 games left to play and are 3 points from safety.
Aston Villa have 3 games left to play (including a match tonight, 7/16/20) and are 4 points from safety.
West Ham and Watford both have 3 games left to play; the results of their matches will determine the fate of Bournemouth and Aston Villa.

Bookmakers' odds are as follows:

Bournemouth @ 1/9
Aston Villa @ 1/7
Watford @ 4/1
West Ham United @ 8/1
Brighton @ 66/1

My prediction for bottom 3 has not changed (and part of it is already confirmed).

Update 7/22/20:

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/betting/foo ... tion-odds/

Team Chance of being relegated
Bournemouth 96%
Watford 78%
Aston Villa 33%

West Ham and Brighton are now confirmed safe, and Norwich are confirmed to be relegated (we knew the latter fact from a prior update).
That just leaves Aston Villa, Watford and Bournemouth to duke it out over the last "safe" spot, and the two "relegated" spots.

Bookmakers' odds:

Aston Villa: 2/1
Watford: 2/7
Bournemouth: 1/25

The bookmakers' odds have been taken from: https://www.bet365.com/#/AC/B1/C1/D13/E49359350/F2/K^4/
The percentages were taken by calculating the odds from this converter: https://www.aceodds.com/bet-calculator/ ... erter.html

Note that the above links are more accurate than the Telegraph link as the Telegraph link has not updated itself to reflect the matches that took place on Tuesday.

Going by the bookmakers, Aston Villa are now the "safest", and Bournemouth are in severe trouble.
I'd be more concerned about Watford... they have to defeat Arsenal, whereas Aston Villa have West Ham to defeat and Bournemouth have to deal with Everton.

Everything will be wrapped up from 4pm this Sunday (7/26) - watch this space!
