Firefox 29...

Postby spotify95 » May 19th, 2014, 10:36 am

...why did Mozilla copy Google Chrome with their firefox 29?

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/996927 :(

They just made their firefox into a curved minimalistic Google Chrome clone. Which I do not need as I already use Chrome as default!

Plus my extension CSS3 Clock won't work on firefox 29, yet it works on chrome!

Please do not install this garbage firefox 29. Remember, if we wanted a chrome lookalike, we'd have got the real chrome!

Maybe something has miraculously happened, as Firefox 28 auto updated to Firechrome 29. (Yes, Firechrome means that Firefox is basically a chrome copy).

Luckily my CSS3 clock works on Firechrome 29, so I'll leave it and see what happens.

I may download Firefox 24 ESR as another firefox browser, and never update it to the chrome clone.

I will steer well clear of it! :)

Youre best to download Firefox 28.0 and disable auto updates... or get 24.0 ESR.

I don't mind the australis now as it works with my apps... yep it does look like chrome but hey!

Chrome is still my main browser.

I find Chrome just a tad bit too confusing to use at times. :cat:

Is that the ESR release then? (Extended support)

Firefox do updates every 6 weeks for their main browser, plus they also release ESR version for organisations that cannot update their browsers every 6 weeks.

Chrome is my main, followed by Firefox. I do use Firefox 29, as it does work now.

Edit: I think it's Firefox 30 now....

Oh yeah, the Tor Browser! :)

I use that sometimes, in order to make havoc on the DS and Smeggy forums. ;)
It also gives you a different IP so you don't get your home IP banned from a forum. :)
