Phone charging hacks (unsurprisingly) do not work

Unsurprisingly these hacks do not work. I think this may be because phones have AC to DC converters in them so they require AC to charge while batteries use DC.

You sure about that Kyx?
Li-Ion batteries give out anything between 2.5V and 4.2V DC, and USB voltage is 5V DC. There's no AC supply given to a mobile, or anything else that is powered by USB.

I wasn't sure, hence the 'I think' :) :p
